In an inspiring new video series, CEV IAF RVO has released a powerful tribute to the contributions of women in the fields of Valuation and Architecture. This video, which is timed with International Women’s Day, explores the transformative impact of women professionals who are not only excelling in their careers but also shaping the future of urban design and property valuation.
The video begins with a compelling session titled “Women’s Empowerment in the Valuation Sector” by RV Gunjan Rajdev and Ar. Mallika Jain, who share their personal experiences of navigating a field that often presents gender-related challenges. Their insights provide a candid look at the strength and resilience required to succeed in the architecture and valuation industries, and their message resonates with women aspiring to pursue these fields.
In another powerful segment, RV Rita Minhas discusses “Gender Inclusive Spatial Planning”, a concept central to creating urban spaces that are both functional and safe for women. She highlights key historical and contemporary contributions of women in architecture, from pioneers like Sheila Sri Prakash to modern-day professionals influencing urban planning policies. Minhas also shares the impactful work of NGOs like JAGORI in advocating for safer public spaces for women.
“Decoding the POSH Act-2013 for a Valuer” by Ar. Dolcy Gupta and Advocate Vishakha Gupta shifts focus to legal frameworks that protect women in the workplace, exploring how the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Act ensures safer work environments for women in the valuation industry.
Additionally, RV Madhu Garg’s segment on “Sustainable Housing for Sustainable Cities” explores the global demand for sustainable urban housing solutions and the critical role that women architects and valuers play in shaping these projects. Garg stresses the importance of adopting green building designs to reduce environmental impact and foster sustainability.
The video concludes with RV Mohita Garg Vashisht’s exploration of architectural valuation, focusing on the iconic I.T. Orbit Building and how architectural aesthetics, design flexibility, and functionality affect real estate value.
